DAY 17: Public transportation.
I’ve been having trouble waking up… I’d rather take the bus, as I get dropped off pretty much at the back door to work…
Took the dog for a walk in the evening to Meridian Hill park and back, spent about 2 hours. (I will count that as exercise…)
Ps- I also called the DMV. Guess I will be spending the day there on Saturday.
Then perhaps I will be more tempted to drive…

1/2 way there…
DAY 15: Public transportation.
I took the metro- Gallery Place-Metro Center- Foggy Bottom. The worst part about it was the walk from the metro station, it was so HUMID!!! I was sweating by the time I got to the building… literally, soaked. yuck.

Slept in too late, had to take the metro.
I really need to try and catch the 9:05/9:23 bus from the station down the road…
9:00 pm; Decided I wanted a Love Cafe snack… took the S5 Bus to U Street (took about 5 minutes) But I forgot to get a transfer. I get in the dark bus, the only blonde on the entire bus- but I “know what I am doing” <buzzzz> My smartTrip card doesn’t like this… ok, so I take it out of my wallet and re-scan it, and beep. I am on. (Still forgot to get that transfer- and didn’t want to look TOO out of place, like I don’t know what I am doing- I just sit there in my seat and suck up the double fare I’ll be paying…) Oh well, maybe I’ll get it right next time.
Happily I get off the bus at U St. get my GERMAN CHOCOLATE CAKE, and headed back to the stop. Wait about 10 min, and headed back up the hill…

Taking the metro really isn’t too bad. Looking at the bus schedules, it looks like I’ll be able to come home faster though.. I just don’t really like the idea as much of having to wait at a stop, or missing a bus then having to wait another 15-20 minutes for the next bus. I’ll give it a try this afternoon.

The car is parked in the garage for the month. I have 10 bus tokens in hand, my smarTrip card is fully loaded and registered. I begin to learn the ways of Public Transportation….
my journey begins.
(once I take care of something, I’ll let you know why I AM REALLY DOING ALL OF THIS)
DAY 1: Public transportation.
